Refrigerated Transport

This division is operated and administered on a 24/7 basis, which covers:

• Confirmation of all in-coming customer jobs.
• Processing of all jobs i.e. collections, trunking and final destination.
• As service levels are paramount, each David Price Food Services Ltd site has its own Customer Service Department available to assist new and existing customers successfully through from the start to the end of the collection and delivery process. This includes non conformance reports on all collection and delivery processes.

David Price Food Services Ltd operation has developed a fully integrated computer system, which gives the customer complete satisfaction throughout the distribution process. This entails:

• Computerised Traffic System
  Traffic systems, which are fully integrated between all network partners.
• On-Line Advanced Services
  David Price Food Services Ltd continues to roll-out the On-Line Advanced Services with over 90% of the customers using this system to book their transport, track jobs from start to finish, review full history of the job, retrieve POD's available within 36 hours and check the booking-in report on a daily and weekly basis. This system is available to customers through David Price Food Services Ltd website 24/7 and will eradicate the need for faxes and e-mails.
  Please note this system has been developed from the feedback from customer's who are using this system on a day to day basis.
• Fleet board Tracking system
  Fleet board has been the chosen method of automated live tracking for both vehicles and trailers including refrigeration, which also gives numerous historical reports particularly for driver management, vehicle maintenance, etc.

This division offers next day delivery for chilled and frozen produce to the majority of mainland UK, Ireland and most of Europe, specialising in 1-26 pallet drops and delivering on behalf of its customers to the following destinations:

• Manufacturers for further processing
• Food services distribution depots
• Airport catering outlets
• Large retail distribution depots

Our online services enable customers to enter orders directly into our traffic system, production of pallet labels, status reporting and POD retrieval.

Vehicles feature:

• Vehicles fitted with dual evaporators
• Moveable bulkhead doors to maintain the strictest temperature guidelines
• Computerised temperature controlled systems
• Satellite tracking system on all vehicles
• New health and safety accessories introduced to reduce potential hazards
• A variety of vehicles at each depot in order to cope with destination point restrictions, ie. rigid, taillift operation etc.

Cold Storage - Major Features

• Automatic mobile racking totalling 5000 pallet capacity of Frozen or Chilled enabling easy access to all products at all times
• On-Line Stock system is being used by customers' who are storing their raw materials, semi-produced and finished products with David Price Food Services Limited. Customers' can release their stock along with a full audit process from start to finish. This allows customers access to this live web-based system, which allows immediate stock enquiry and availability to produce goods in and outwards.
• Modern fleet of fork lift trucks, taking into account drivers comfort and safety
• 2 Fully refrigerated loading docks with automatic dock levellers, enabling loading and unloading at various heights
• Complete modern refrigeration plant with online temperature control
• Full creditation for EEC approval
• 7 day, 24 hour operation
• Separate chilled storage chamber suitable for picking operation

Customer Base

Types of product stored in the coldstore range from:

• Raw materials for production purposes.
• Semi-produced product for further production destined for all parts of the UK, Europe & Ireland.
• Finished product which is also destined for all areas of the UK, Europe, Ireland and other parts of the world.

70% of all products stored are transferred to David Price Transport Division for onward distribution.
